Strategic Proposals end of year awards - and the winner is...
Every year since 2008, we've presented awards to recognise those we work with who've demonstrated extraordinary commitment to proposal management best practice in the previous twelve months. Each year, we recognise one team and one individual.
This year's individual award has gone to Alex McCallum at Scottish Widows. Alex has transformed his organisation and team's approach to bidding. His team were very close to getting our team award as well, so they deserve recognition. Well done. Despite it being a really challenging year, the capability improvements have led to a significant improvement in win rates, including some major wins.

Our Team Award for 2020 goes to Rick Harris and the staff of APMP.
The staff who manage our professional body do a great job in any year. In 2020, they've truly excelled themselves – going way beyond "business as usual" against the backdrop of the pandemic.
Launching the new Capture Certification conference. Running the first Bid & Proposal Con Europe, in Amsterdam in March. The immense effort that went into adjusting to the disruption caused by Covid-19 to put on not one, but two brilliantly successful global online conferences. Reducing the price of their Practitioner qualifications to make them more accessible. And so much more. No wonder so many people talk online, now more than ever, about being #ProudToBeAPMP.
In SP, we work with the association's small team of full-time staff regularly, and are always inspired by their warmth and professionalism in every interaction. They try to avoid the limelight, but we believe that their achievements and hard work this year have been outstanding, and truly deserving of this accolade.
